Melbourne’s Historic Artefacts: Identification and Conservation Basics - REPEATED

This one-day event is designed as an intensive workshop for those new to historic artefact identification as well as those wishing to brush up on their identification skills.

The workshop will cover on-site artefact first aid for field archaeologists and introduce the two main artefact types found on historic Melbourne sites, with one session covering ceramic artefacts, and another on glass artefacts. The sessions will provide learning resources and hands-on sessions.

The workshop sessions will be presented by material culture specialists Dr Christine Williamson and Bronwyn Woff, and conservator Holly Jones-Amin. The workshop will include a break for morning tea (provided) and lunch (BYO).
